OUR GIFT TO THE COMMUNITY
Our annual festive gift wrapping service is a significant contributor to our community outreach. The proceeds go to a number of NGOs in George to improve the lives of those less fortunate in our community.
Gift Wrapping Recipients 2023
Mall opens its heart to George community: Garden Route Mall shoppers who had their gift purchases wrapped by the mall during the festive season have made a much appreciated difference to the live of less fortunate people in George. Last month representatives of the mall visited six Non-Government Organisations in George to assist them with funds raised from the gift wrapping initiative. The two gift wrapping stations at Pick n Pay and Woolworths had managed to generate R54 000 in six days. Spokespeople for the organisations mentioned that 2022 had been difficult year and that they had incurred extra expenses, so this donation would “assist immensely”. Expressing the message of Garden Route Mall’s “We Share & We Care” campaign, the mall donated a total of R50 000 to the following six deserving organisations: R10 000 each to Phambili Refuge, Rosemoor Home for the Aged, Life Community, and Ithemba Lobomi, and R5 000 each to Ukuwela Programand Joey’s Babies. The mall’s marketing manager, Tumi Masango, said, “We would like to thank all the customers for supporting this cause and making a difference to our communities.”
