Photogenic 2009 pulls a crowd of 1500 spectators.

Garden Route Mall hosted a spectacular Photogenic 2009 competition on 4 July with entries that were of a very high standard. Our girls and boys are truly the most beautiful in the country – thank you so much for entering and taking up the opportunity of winning prizes valued over R50, 000.00. To our 60 Plus categories – you made it worthwhile – we enjoyed your sense of fun, style and just your passion for life – thank you.

With 375 entries it was a very tough call in deciding on the final winners – however having decided the winners were worthy of their placements.

To all our shoppers and participants - It was a lovely afternoon and thoroughly enjoyable.

The fisrt prize winner was Tamika Janse van Rensburg, 16 years old, who told us that her grand mother Bettie deserves to win as she raised her as her own child since Tamika was five years old, after Tamika sadly lost her mom and Bettie then adopted her.

According to Tamika she is the best mom in the world and a true angel. Tamika wins a weekend away for her and her grand mother at the lovely 4* The Commodore Hotel in Cape Town, which includes breakfasts and 2 Swedish massages kindly sponsored by The Commodore Hotel. The prize also includes an indulgent spa package at Mangwanani Spa sponsored by Pentravel, as well as a huge and very decadent Lindt Chocolate hamper from Lindt. Imperial Car Rental/Europcar sponsored a Group B car to Cape Town with 3 days car rental and 500 km’s free per day.

A very close second was Nico Krynaauw, who really touched us with his entry. His mom was his support, his anchor – during the more difficult times and the better times. Nico wins a Garden Route Mall voucher of R500 and a weekend away at the luxurious Knysna Hollow Country Estate Hotel for 2 with breakfasts included. Nico will be sending his dad and mom for this treat.
